Christmas into 2010

Wow! This year is already starting to fly by! Just yesterday it was Christmas. Well, I finally took a break from my crazy work schedule so I could fill you all in on what has been going on with us lately. Thanks to everyone for making us feel so welcome during our trip to Utah in December, we had such an incredible time and it was SO hard to come back to reality. Due to the weather looking pretty ugly for our scheduled trip, we were lucky and my boss let me go a few days early! This is the story...

Looking at the weather the week of Christmas, things weren't looking too great from Fort Collins all the way to Utah, so Jason and I were getting pretty bummed thinking we were probably going to have to postpone our drive until after Christmas for the storm was pass. Meanwhile, I had woke up Saturday morning (the Saturday before our planned trip) with an extremely, painful tooth ache. Seriously, I wanted to slice my entire left half of my face off...it was pretty awful. So, I called my friend, Micah, who's husband I knew was a dentist. We made an appointment for the coming Tuesday. Well, that Tuesday, weather was looking even worse. I was pretty much in panic mode, and now I am thinking my boss was picking up on it. He came in my office, and told me to not come into work the next day so we could drive home!! So wonderful! Thank you Dean! This definitely lifted my spirits! However, the storm was looking like it was already headed for us and would most likely start that night. Later that night around 7pm, I went to my dentist appointment...which unfortunately lead to scheduling another appointment in January to get a root canal...big, big bummer :( On our way home, Jason and I were debating what we should do about our drive home. It was about 8:00pm when Jason had the insane idea that we should leave right then! I hadn't even packed!! And we were going to be driving in the dark! Yikes! Well, guess what. We decided to go for it! We got home, I threw basically all of my closet in a few suitcases, packed up the Christmas gifts, and we left Fort Collins at 8:30pm! Well, it turned out to be a great idea! We hit some scary weather heading over into Laramie, WY, but seriously the driving conditions we awesome (and my mouth was feeling ok, due to the amazing Vicodin I prescribed! he he) We got to Jason's parent's house around 3:30am, and we couldn't have been happier. Also, thank you to my amazing sis-in-law Mandy for luckily scheduling the first half of a root canal the next morning at 9am! Ha ha! Yes, I really went to two different dentists in two states less than 12 hrs apart! I was pretty tired, but during our entire visit I was pain free! Total chaos...story of my life. The next 12 days were absolutely wonderful!

Dad and Tay Visit!

I am SO behind! I totally forgot to post some of the fun pics I took when my Dad and lil sis Tay came to see us in October. We had such a fun time! These are pictures of the time we spent at Estes Park. Thanks again for coming to see us!! We love you both!

Trip Home for Thanksgiving!

It has been a while since I have posted anything, so I thought Hey! why not! We just wanted to thank our family for such a special trip home to Utah over Thanksgiving. We had such an incredible time! I feel so blessed to have you all in my life. The week went by WAY too fast...they always do! Thank you for keeping us entertained the entire week (including going with me to New Moon over and over again! he he!) and letting us just spend time with you. Over the next few days, I will post some of the cute pictures I took while we were there.

Also, thanks to the D'Ettes for letting me come see a lil bit of your practice. Let me tell you, it feels like yesterday I was there practicing. Wow, how time flies. Now, I am an old, married woman who just wishes she were dancing everyday again. Good luck at all of your competitions this year!! Kami...I am so proud of you. I only wish I had a tenth of your talent. You are so beautiful, and watching you makes me want to just cry (in a good way!). Good luck this Friday at your solo competition. I know you will do AMAZING! Pretend I am there cheering in the stands!

I apologize for those of you we weren't able to see while we were in Utah; we will definitely try to stop by while we are home over Christmas! Mark your calendars! Ha ha! We will be driving home on Christmas Eve (pray the weather is perfect!), and will stay for Christmas and New Years! We'll drive back to Colorado on Sunday, January 3rd.

Family and friends - We love you all, and miss you so much! Thanks for keeping in touch; we love hearing from you. I must admit, I am the worst when it comes to staying in contact. So, please forgive me! Life gets so busy, and I have a hard time remembering the little things... I've got it! Definitely a New Years resolution in the making!

We hope you all are doing well! You are in our hearts, and we can't wait to see you all later this month!!

Lott Family Visit!

This past weekend, the entire Lott family came to visit us! Wow, did we have a fun filled weekend or what?! They arrived Friday afternoon, Sept 25, and as soon as we met up with them we headed toward Estes Park & Rocky Mountain National Park. Boy, it was sure cold! But SO worth it. We were extremely lucky and came the perfect night! We stayed in one area and saw over 27 bull elk, along with their herds! Incredible! Check out some of the pics & video footage below!

Denver Zoo!

We loved our trip to the Zoo in the spring, so we wanted to take everyone! The kids were soooo cute. We saw the monkeys, the rhino, the hippos, and .... lions, tiger, & bears…oh my!! It was a pretty long day, but I loved every minute of it. We got some great pictures while we were there:

Go Rockies!

After our big day at the Zoo, we got to go the Rockies baseball game. Unfortunately, they lost to Cardinals, but it was a great game! Thanks for a great night everyone!!
